Third Place

Where your work, your growth, and your community share the same address.

Live-and-work residencies
First house: Medellín, Colombia
Next season: February 2027

The concept

A residency, not a rental

The first place is home. The second is work. The third is where you actually become who you're trying to be: a place with structure, community, and enough friction to change you.

Third Place builds curated residencies for remote professionals who want more than a desk and a lease. Each season, residents in all eight rooms arrive together, live together, and leave together after three months. A founding couple lives on-site and sets the culture. Dedicated staff handles the household. You bring your remote work and your ambition. The house handles everything else.

The name comes from sociologist Ray Oldenburg, who used "third place" for the cafés, barbershops, and plazas where a community actually forms.

Life in the house

The founders

Built by a couple who left the script behind

Manuela and Max didn't start Third Place from a business plan. They started it from a decision: to stop building other people's visions and start building their own life, together, on their own terms.

They left the United States for Manuela's home country, Colombia, and began designing the kind of household they wanted to live in: intentional, structured, beautiful, and open to the right people. Third Place is that household turned into something others can join.

Manuela

Manuela was born in Colombia and moved to the U.S. with her family at 14, before she spoke any English. Learning to make a new place feel like home became her craft. She met Max at 17, graduated top of her class in interior design at SCAD, and went on to work for leading residential and commercial design firms in Atlanta and Charleston, with clients today from Colombia to the U.S. She designs every Third Place house and runs the household: the spaces, the staff, the culture on the ground.

Max

After college, Max spent six years consulting for major tech companies from his living room. The work looked impressive on paper and felt unreal in practice. So he walked away, and he and Manuela set out across Latin America. Months of travel, Spanish, and long conversations with strangers showed him the laptop was never the problem. Working without people around it was. Third Place came out of that trip. He runs operations, resident selection, and the seasonal model behind every house.

Get on the list

New seasons and new houses go to the list first. Only openings, when they happen.
